Read…Lead!
Till I come, give attendance to reading… (1 Timothy 4:13a)
You are as rural as your ignorance and as civilized as your knowledge. In every company there are two GMs. The main difference between the GM (Gate Man) outside and the real GM (General Manager) is knowledge. Interestingly, up thrust is impossible without a new level of knowledge. You are as potent as the depths of knowledge you posses because heights are found in depths. God lamented “my people are gone into captivity for the lack of knowledge” (Hosea 4:6). Frankly, there is no mountain anywhere; everyman’s mountain is his ignorance. As a matter of fact, the strength of the oppressor lies in the maintenance of ignorance. Without consciously acquired information, there cannot be inner formation. Knowledge is light and ignorance is darkness. Just as I said in my bestselling LEGENDARY, information is the fuel of destiny!
One of the major means of acquiring information is by reading books. Ultimately, you will remain the same person you are after 5 years except for the books you read and the people you relate with. The leadership problem in Africa is traceable to the fact that a handful of African leaders are not readers. There are numerous achievers today whose success can be linked up to the books they read. Take for instance; Richard Branson’s (the founder of the Virgin Group) Fortune began after he read a book titled “Small is Beautiful”. He was a dropout but he read his way to prosperity. Dear reader, if only you can pledge to read at least one book monthly, can I guarantee that stardom is close by. Benjamin Franklin had only two years of formal education, but he spent his food money on books. Just by reading, he successfully founded a University, built a specialist hospital and became one of the foremost American Philosophers. Dear, you are what you read! Daniel said “I Daniel understood by books…” (Daniel 9:2). Amazingly, committed readers often turn out to be pace setters and trail blazers in life. This is the just one of the sure-fire way to eminence. There is enough space at the top, why settle beneath.
Succeed!
Nothing matches that.
