About Oluwatobi

I am Oluwatobi Soyombo. I work on energy access in Nigeria.

I am Chief Growth Officer at Havenhill Synergy Limited, where we are using solar energy to end energy poverty in Africa — getting reliable power to people who do not have it, and making the economics of that work.

Before energy, I spent several years on education. I co-founded 1Plify to give students direct access to tertiary education, and it grew to a presence in fourteen countries. Before that I was technology lead at one of Africa’s leading media companies, handling media and technology projects. Somewhere in the middle I took an MBA in Bangalore, India.

This blog is where I think out loud — technology, business, education, energy and what it is actually like to build things. Some of it is advice, some of it is argument, and a fair amount is me working something out in public.
